Big Cup is thought of to be the first Kendama trick to learn. Kendama Kentei Test has been designed to include tricks easier than Big Cup, so that a larger audience, even very young children can experience the joy of “I got it!”

For those who want to challenge themselves, Kendama Kentei Test will guide you through 75 tricks, ordered by difficulty, from very easy to more advanced.

Tricks Updated Every Year

The tricks in the highest level, the Master Level, will be updated every year. Tricks will be added based off of Kendama World Cup and will include recent trends. Challengers will never get tired of Kendama Kentei Test.

Results are Registered

In addition to the certification sticker given to you by the instructor, a Certificate of Completion may be awarded upon request.
Those who request a certificate will be given a Kendama Kentei ID Card and be officially registered in our records.

Kendama Kentei Test Rules

Passing Criteria

To gain certification, the player must clear each trick within 5 attempts. All tricks must be done in order from the first trick to the fifth trick.
– The player may choose which level they would like to start on.
– Exams are limited to one attempt per day. Exception: The player may continue and move on to the next level only if they finish the current level.
– Within a Level, players may not jump Class. Please start at 3rd Class.
– For Kendama Medal Challenge, to actively promote more children into saying, “I got it!” there are no limits to the number of attempts.

Regarding the Kendama being used

Any Kendama may be used.
Choosing a Kendama on which player feels that tricks are easier is part of the fun! Experimenting with paints and designs is one of the ways that players can enjoy Kendama.
*The Kendama must have three cups. There must be a maximum of one spike and one hole in the Tama. The shape must be recognizable as a “Kendama”.

Players may take Kendama Kentei Test at spots / meetings / events where there is a registered Kendama Sensei (=Teacher) member.
